It has been a couple of weeks since I wrote anything.  This is because we have been arranging to make modifications to the house, namely reinforcing the foundation, remodeling the kitchen, painting the exterior, and refinishing the wood floors on the lower level.  What this means for the studio is that it is in a state of flux and will probably remain that way until sometime in October.  To refinish the floors is going to require that everything be moved to a location that does not have wood floors and the only place on the lower level that is carpeted is Studio A.  The wall I erected to create my office and first studio room eleven years ago is being removed and when all the work is done the grand piano will be located in that area and possibly the acoustic drums as well.  Studio A is being rearranged to accommodate the Hammond and while the floors are being refinished it will temporarily hold the grand piano.  The challenge for me is going to be keeping the studio in a functional state except for the four days it will take to finish the floors.  All my scores and other music reference materials are boxed up but hopefully all this remodeling won't interfere with my ongoing musical projects and I'll be able to produce something over the next six weeks.
