After a long day yesterday of trying to get my notes from the last month on how to create and enhance my online presence - something I will post later this week - I returned to the studio to learn a little more about routing the X32 to Reaper and utilize the record monitoring functions to play some VST's, namely the Dexed emulator of the Yamaha DX-7.  Because I had reset my Reaper layout I had to reconfigure my path to my VST directory before I could access them but once I finally did that I spent a couple of hours playing around with the Dexed.  I did take the recording I made Monday night of the Igoe Groove 1, variation 1 with fills and recorded a ii - V - ii - V - ii - V - Imaj7 progression (in C major) over it using the Origin 37 to control the Dexed while simultaneously  playing the MP5.  It's not anything I would rave about but I will post it when I decide how I want to post audio snippets on the website (as either embedded audio or links to a yet to be created Soundcloud account or something else).  The most significant thing about that session was that it instilled in me a desire to create an article and YouTube video on my implementation of the Helgoboss Realearn plugin to link controllers from the Origin 37 to the Dexed plugin.  That will have to wait until later this week or next week if I can wait that long.  That topic actually might end up becoming a series that would focus on FM synthesis and could become very involved.  I'll be contemplating that for the next few days but look for something soon on that topic.
